A new cosmetic treatment called Halo, which has been developed by Fourth state Medicine (4SM), promises to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The system was inspired by electric propulsion technology which is used to drive space crafts, and is currently being held and developed at the Surrey Space Centre.

The Halo system works by removing the top layer of the epidermis and causing the layers below to contract. 4SM has worked with the University of Manchester to demonstrate that Halo can offer promoted wound healing, reduced scarring and reduced recovery times in comparison to existing skin rejuvenation treatments on the market.

The Halo system is predicted to be available from early 2016.
