Vida Aesthetics Launches Nithya Collagen Booster in UK

August 31, 2016 by CarlFrascina

Product company Vida Aesthetics has launched collagen booster Nithya to aesthetic clinics nationwide.

A truly unique form of pain-less anti-ageing treatment, Nithya is the first skin rejuvenation injectable made from equine-sourced protein available in the UK.

This revolutionary new skin plumping treatment is designed to holistically improve the production of new collagen, helping to ease fine lines around the eyes, improve facial volume in areas such as the cheeks, and can even improve the appearance of the décolletage.

Before and After Nithya treatment
Before and After Nithya treatment

The revitalising protein, which is derived from the tendons of horses, is a first for UK aesthetic clinics keen to offer a more natural-looking anti-ageing option. Results are long-lasting, and unlike wrinkle reduction treatments like Botox which paralyse the muscles and dermal fillers which can leave the face looking over-filled, Nithya works in harmony with your natural tissue structure.

Plumper, firmer looking skin without potentially harmful chemicals

After reaching the age of 25, we lose up to 1.5% of collagen from our skin each year thereafter. The resulting appearance of wrinkles and hollow-looking cheeks – due to the loss of our natural collagen – can be mitigated by replenishing it.

And this can now be achieved through treatment with Nithya; an injectable product containing protein sourced from horses which is designed for the regeneration and reconstruction of tissues.

Ideal for use as an anti-ageing and volume correction treatment, this is a Class III medical device. During the non-surgical treatment – which costs from £250 – the heterologous Type I collagen powder is mixed with water before being injected into areas of the face such as the cheeks and under eye. A topical gel is applied before hand to ensure patient comfort throughout.

Nithya is clinically proven to stimulate the production of new fibroblasts post-treatment to create native Type III collagen; a process that is fundamental in cosmetic medicine and anti-ageing treatments. It has been found to be specifically effective in post-menopausal women who have seen their collagen production slow down quickly.

Cosmetic nurse and skin specialist Miss. Bianca Estelle from BEA Skin Clinic was one of the first aesthetic professionals to trial the collagen booster and said:

“I have been using Nithya in my clinic for a few months now and the results are already impressive. It’s great we can offer this in combination with anti-wrinkle treatments such as fillers, or as a skin rejuvenation and volume restoring treatment of its own.”

Eddy Emilio, Director of Vida Aesthetics, who is pioneering the unique equine protein treatment in the UK says the launch of Nithya is already proving popular with his clients.

“This exceptional collagen-boosting product is proven to be safe, has had no reported side effects, is hypoallergenic and gives excellent results. We truly believe this could rival the results of established but overused anti-ageing cosmetic treatments,” he said.

“This is the only commercially available Type I collagen intended for aesthetic use in the country, and we’re already getting rave reviews from cosmetic doctors thanks to its excellent results and numerous areas it can improve the appearance of. The idea of using protein sourced from horses may seem quirky, but we’re certain this is the future of anti-ageing!”

Collagen boosting treatments using Nithya will be available for men and women in clinics nationwide from September 1st 2016 and start from £250. Results last 6-12 months.

For further information on Nithya by Vida Aesthetics call 01306 646526 or email eddy@vida-aesthetics.com. The latest product launches from Vida Aesthetics can be found online www.vida-aesthetics.com.

Novus Medical Announced As Exclusive WonTech Distributor

July 31, 2016 by CarlFrascina

Medical aesthetic device company Novus Medical is proud to announce its exclusive distribution of WonTech devices.

Novus Medical – launched in 2016 by Jim Westwood – will be the sole supplier of WonTech devices in the UK, marking a big leap for the market-leading device company.

Director Jim praised the union of Novus Medical and WonTech, which was exclusively revealed at the FACE Conference 2016.

“We are pleased to be able to announce our distribution of WonTech under out portfolio of devices at Novus Medical,” said Jim.

“WonTech are renowned for high quality cosmetic devices and products. Developed through their significant research and development team, they have grown the domestic market through quality manufacturing and innovative product design. We’re delighted to be offering UK clinics and salons some market-leading devices,” he said.

WonTech have over 16 years of manufacturing experience for their Q Switched Nd:YAG platform and have created a very stable and high specification Q Switched Nd:YAG device, with over 4 wave lengths.

“The Pastelle is very high quality multi use platform. We have no doubt this will become a top device for clinicians across the country,” said Jim.

WonTech is also the mastermind behind UltraSkin II: one of their leading products. With a significant domestic market share for HIFU, the UltraSkin II is a versatile HIFU device that will offer clinics a broad range of treatments for both body and face.

“The key area for use in the UK will be the face as the device can deliver multi depth coagulation zones enabling a 3 dimensional lifting effect. Results for the UltraSkin II are quick without any need for the client to have anaesthetic,” explained Jim.

“This is in part due to the 1mm focal zone, which reduces pain thus increasing the clients’ satisfaction.  Whilst having a 1mm focal zone is good for facial and neck lifting, it does have limitations for body contouring, as to deliver treatments to the abdomen with a single line delivery at 1mm would lead to lengthy treatment times. Fortunately WonTech have developed the HIFU Body device which launches soon,” Jim concluded.

Due to be launched in the UK later in 2016 – with a grid of 24 x 24 lines versus the 1 line delivery system with most existing HIFU devices – this will ensure effective and quick treatment times for fat reduction of the abdomen and other areas of the body for clients.

“PicoSecond technology is arriving in the UK with WonTech; expected later in Q4 2016, the PicoCare is a multi-wavelength platform. Expected to become one of the most effective and price sensitive pico second lasers, the PicoCare will be attracting lots of attention throughout 2017 and beyond.”

Novus Medical will be offering a scalable model for clinics who wish to be able to offer PicoSecond treatments to their clients.

Utliising their considerable experience in research and design the PicoCare will become a real force in 2017 for Novus Medical.

Thread Lifts at 30: Rise in Non-Surgical Alternative to Traditional Facelifts

March 10, 2015 by CarlFrascina

By Laura Casewell

According to cosmetic experts, the days of the traditional facelift are numbered thanks to the arrival of the thread lift; a new non-surgical anti-ageing alternative being labelled the ‘one-stitch facelift’ for women in their thirties.

While invasive procedures to nip and tuck skin around the face involve long recovery periods, not to mention a hefty price tag, professionals say the thread lift is set to continue to grow in popularity during 2015 thanks to its minimally invasive nature, fast results, and affordability.

DR Sarah TonksThe thread lift is a delicate facial rejuvenation procedure designed to gently lift sagging facial skin to produce a smoother, more youthful appearance. During the 45-minute procedure, fine surgical sutures are inserted in to the soft tissue of the face to lift and support dropping skin, with just a local aesthetic.

Despite already having a loyal older following, cosmetic doctors have revealed its appeal has now attracted a younger audience, with women in their thirties flocking to clinics across the UK to undergo the latest cosmetic craze.

Seeing a 1165% rise in enquiries* in 2014 alone, thread lifts are now set to be one of the fastest growing treatments in clinics across the country according to anti-ageing experts like Dr. Sarah Tonks, a cosmetic doctor from London.

“The one-stitch facelift has been gaining in popularity at a rapid rate, particularly with ladies in their thirties with good reason,” the facial expert explains. “Our thirties represent a transitional time, particularly for women. Whilst the skin isn’t sagging enough to warrant a surgical facelift, the signs of ageing have started to set in – particularly around the jaw and cheeks – and the thread lift can help improve the appearance of skin laxity, giving patients a more volumised look.”

“I have more patients than ever coming to me seeking treatment for the early signs of ageing, but of course for most surgery is not an option,” Dr Tonks says. “Thread lifts, using Silhouette Soft for example, offer patients a subtle facial lift that looks natural, meaning they avoid the ‘wind tunnel’ look often associated with surgical facelifts, making them look refreshed rather than different.”

“No one wants to look like they’ve had work done, especially in their thirties, so this treatment offers the best solution. It could be the end of the scalpel – the results are that good,” she concludes.

New Vanquish applicator developed to treat thighs

March 6, 2015 by CarlFrascina

By Rosie Wilson

BTL, the company behind the contactless body contouring treatment Vanquish, is enjoying a positive reception for the Flex applicator, an add-on for Vanquish that’s designed specifically for use on the thighs.

The device, which has already proved popular in Europe, is gaining status in North and South America. Thigh surgery has traditionally been one of the more problematic lifting procedures, so the non-surgical innovation is welcome in the industry.

The flex applicator allows the practitioner to treat the inner and outer thighs simultaneously, or treat over the media fat pad proximal to the knee and outer thigh.

In a recent clinical study with Vanquish Flex, 40 patients showed an average of one inch reduction on each leg, over four treatments of 30 minutes per leg.

For best results, BTL recommends 4-6 sessions with Vanquish Flex to each be held a week apart. The results are then said to improve for the following month after the treatment plan is over.

2014 Non-Surgical Trends Revealed

January 9, 2015 by CarlFrascina

By Rosie Wilson

Dermal fillers were the most performed non-surgical treatment last year, while thread lifts showed the most growth.

According to the research conducted by WhatClinic.com, the number of enquiries for thread lifts had grown by 1165% compared to 2013. Silhouette Lift ranked second at 633% growth, followed by fat reduction injections, which grew in demand by 518%. Vein stripping (400%), lipodissolve (203%), non-surgical nose jobs (170%) and lip augmentation (158%) were also on the list.

12794953_xxlAfter most popular treatment dermal fillers, the most performed treatments include mole removal, lip augmentation and spider vein removal.

Collagen fillers, Teosyal fillers and fat fillers were all on the list of least requested treatments for 2014.
Cheek augmentation, chin augmentation and ReCell all had 0% growth in enquiries between 2013 and 2014.
Carboxytherapy was the only treatment to appear on two lists; the most growth and least requested.

Emily Ross, the director of WhatClinic.com, said: “This year has seen some exciting new treatments come to market, which are already driving interest with patients looking for non-surgical alternatives.”

She went on to advise patients: “A sensible question to ask your practitioner is how many patients they have performed this particular treatment on, and how many they do per week – as frequent practice really does make perfect. Make sure you have realistic expectations of the results and read patient reviews on sites to get independent opinions.”

Advanced Consultation Training Course to Launch in 2015

December 28, 2014 by CarlFrascina

By Rosie Wilson

The CPD approved course, set to launch in the UK early next year, will ensure practitioners are holding rigorous consultations prior to treatment.

The Advanced Consultation Training (ACT) course aims to create an industry standard for consultations in what is currently an unregulated environment. The training programme has been developed by micropigmentation practitioner Anouska Cassano and Glen M. Callaghan, Professor of Psychology at San José State University.

Aimed at both beauty therapists and aesthetics practitioners, the ACT course aims not only to manage patient expectations, but to assess whether there are any psychological or emotional factors that may affect their patients’ suitability for treatment. At the end of training, subjects will be tested to ascertain whether they can become a certified ACT practitioner.

Cassano said: “Part of becoming an ACT certified practitioner is recognising that not all clients may be right for what we do and the treatments we provide. Although undergoing the treatment makes ethical and moral sense, it also makes good business sense. A more efficient consultation process will result in happier patients which leads to positive word of mouth recommendations.”
