January 3, 2017 by CarlFrascina

Rory McNicholl has been appointed by Cynosure as the new UK Country Manager.

A spokesperson for Cynosure said the company continues to look for new avenues for growth, and appointing Rory – who brings experience from outside of the Aesthetics market – will add value as Cynosure expands its footprint.

A healthcare business executive with 16 years’ experience in new product launch, international marketing, commercialisation and sales of medical devices, Rory has a strong background in market analysis, sales force optimisation, domestic and international product commercialisation.

Rory said:

“I am delighted to be part of the Cynosure UK team, it is a privilege to work for such a dynamic, market leading company. It is evident we have a wealth of experience in the UK team with many high-quality individuals and I am very excited about what we can achieve together.”

“In my short time at the company I have had the pleasure of meeting many leading physicians in the field of aesthetics and to hearing their positive feedback on our first-class products, in addition to spending time with our broad base of business owners many of whom have been working in partnership with Cynosure for many years.

“I am motivated by the possibilities open to us in the UK market given our unique tool box of high quality products, excellent customer service and first class clinical training.”

In 2017 Cynosure UK will launch the Cynosure Academy; an ongoing learning journey for mastering the business of aesthetic laser treatment and for staying on top of emerging trends and technologies.

November 13, 2014 by Laura Casewell

By Laura Casewell

This month ProSkin was named best clinic chain at the MyFaceMyBody Awards after beating off tough competition to take home the title.

With 14 clinics now stretching across the UK and new ones opening every few months, ProSkin has also become the fastest growing clinic chain. ProSkin only provides treatments that deliver proven results for all of the most common skin concerns and issues, including: acne, lines and wrinkles, hair removal, tattoo removal, sun damaged skin, anti-ageing, pigmentation, thread
veins, stretch marks and cellulite.

The ProSkin mantra is to provide unbeatable value as well as unbeatable results, a mantra that the MyFaceMyBody Awards judges could really see within the clinics.

As well as the exciting win for ProSkin, the PicoSure laser by Cynosure was awarded with the Best Anti-Ageing treatment title at the MyFaceMyBody Awards. Being one of only a select few clinics to offer this revolutionary treatment, we have seen firsthand how the popularity of the Picosure Skin Revitalisation and Wrinkle reduction treatments have soared in recent months.

The PicoSure laser works by stimulating the collagen and elastin production in the skin resulting in dramatic reduction in the appearance of wrinkles. Areas such as around the eyes, crow’s feet, wrinkles around the mouth, frown lines, lipstick lines, smokers lines and facial wrinkles can all be effectively targeted. As well as this, other areas of the body such as hands, arms décolletage can
also be treated.

Lisa Pellizzon, Sales and Operations Director commented on the award win:

“This is such an amazing achievement for us, but one be feel we really
deserve. We’re not just about delivering great value to our customers; we’re
also an innovative and forward-thinking business that’s passionate about
delivering the very best aesthetic results safely and effectively! Here’s to an
even bigger and better 2015.”

Cynosure Launch Icon: The First Laser That Grows Skin

May 14, 2014 by Laura Casewell

APSARAS4Cynosure have developed the first laser treatment which can completely erase scarring.

The newly-launched Icon laser can treat all kinds of scarring including stretch marks, acne scarring, burn scars and surgical scars.

The laser is equipped with the only FDA-approved Skintel melanin reader, which analyses your skin type, and transmits this vital information wirelessly. The laser then cleverly sets itself into the optimal conditions for your specific skin type, using A.I. to deliver truly tailored results.

The non-ablative fractionated laser directs microscopic columns of heat deep into the dermis, leaving the surrounding tissue and epidermis intact. This deep heat triggers a restorative healing response in the skin, stimulating collagen production and allowing the skin to renew itself, gently replacing the scarred skin with fresh healthy tissue. The area blends naturally with the surrounding skin, as if it was never there.

Until now, clinicians have had to rely on relatively subjective tools to determine skin type, but the Skintel Melanin Reader can provide an incredibly accurate analysis of the skin.

With the Icon system, aesthetic practices can provide the most popular treatments, including:

  • laser skin resurfacing
  • laser wrinkle reduction
  • laser scar and stretch mark treatment
  • permanent hair reduction
  • vessel and pigment clearance
  • leg vein clearance

Factors such as the pigmentation amount and level of sun exposure will be revealed and automatically programmed by the Icon laser, providing the best possible results.

A spokesperson for Cynosure said:

“It represents a new era in laser and optimised light technology. The Icon Aesthetic System offers high peak powers, state-of-the-art cooling, built in calibration, and the Skintel® Reader, the only FDA-cleared melanin reader, resulting in fast treatments with excellent outcomes.”
